In addition to the BIZSAFE program, the WSH/BIZSAFE awards honor organizations that show outstanding leadership in workplace safety and health performance. These achievements complement requirements such as the Green and Gracious Builders Scheme, which serves as a prerequisite for registering or maintaining specific categories under the BCA Contractors Registration System (CRS), particularly in work heads CW01 and CW02 with financial grades A1 and A2. Together, initiatives like BIZSAFE and the Green and Gracious Builders Scheme help companies strengthen safety standards while meeting regulatory and industry expectations.
BIZSAFE 3 SINGAPORE Risk Management (RM) is a mandatory requirement under the Workplace Safety and Health (Risk Management) Regulations for all workplaces. RM must be established in accordance with RMCP. The established Risk Management system must be audited in order to be certified to BIZSAFE 3 SINGAPORE.
Introduction to bizSAFE
This program, developed by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) in Singapore, is a structured five-level framework designed to help companies improve their Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) capabilities. Achieving bizSAFE certification demonstrates your organization’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with local regulations such as the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and WSH (Risk Management) Regulations. Objective: Demonstrate top management’s commitment to workplace safety and health.
- Facilitate the participation of top management in the 3-hour Workshop for CEOs/Top Management, mandatory for initiating the bizSAFE journey.
- Provide guidance for attending the workshop in person or via e-learning.
- Ensure top management receives the Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion.
bizSAFE Level 2
Objective: Train a Risk Management (RM) Champion to develop and implement a comprehensive Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Assist in nominating an RM Champion from your organization.
- Facilitate participation in the 2-day “Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan” course.
- Equip the RM Champion with knowledge of: Risk Management concepts
Compliance with WSH (Risk Management) Regulations - Ensure the RM Champion attains a Statement of Attainment upon course completion.
bizSAFE Level 3
Objective: Develop, implement, and audit a Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Top Management Guidance:
Support top management in completing bizSAFE Level 1 requirements. - Risk Management Framework Development:
Develop a Risk Management Plan (RMP) tailored to your workplace, aligned with the Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management (RMCP). - Comprehensive Risk Assessments:
Guide the organization in conducting Risk Assessments (RA) for all work activities and processes. - Implementation of Risk Controls:
Ensure the Hierarchy of Controls (elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, and PPE) is applied effectively. - Employee Engagement and Communication:
Conduct workshops to involve employees in understanding and implementing the RMP. - Documentation Support:
Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation such as Risk Registers, RM Implementation Records, and training logs. - Internal Review:
Perform a pre-audit review to identify gaps and ensure compliance. - Engagement of MOM-Approved WSH Auditor:
Facilitate engagement with an MOM-Approved WSH Auditor for the official audit of your RMP. - Certification:
Ensure your organization obtains the bizSAFE Level 3 Certificate, meeting the requirements for contracts with bizSAFE Partners and government sectors.
bizSAFE Level 4
Objective: Develop and implement a Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS).
- Nominate a WSHMS Programme Lead to attend the 4-day “Develop a WSHMS Implementation Plan” course.
- Guide the organization in developing a WSHMS aligned with SS506: Part 1 or ISO 45001.
- Ensure the WSHMS is implemented effectively, including Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), training programs, and incident reporting frameworks.
- Assist in applying for bizSAFE Level 4 status.
