HACCP-BASED FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

SS-577-2012 Singapore Standard

SS 590:2013 Singapore is the updated national standard that replaces the former SAC HACCP Document No. 2, which officially ceased to exist on 9th January 2016. All organizations previously certified under the old standard are required to upgrade to SS 590:2013 Singapore to maintain compliance and ensure their food safety management systems meet current regulatory expectations. By transitioning to SS 590:2013 Singapore, companies strengthen their ability to identify, control, and manage food safety hazards more effectively. Adopting SS 590:2013 Singapore not only ensures continued certification but also enhances operational reliability, customer confidence, and alignment with internationally recognized HACCP principles.

The new standard in Singapore is closely aligned to the international ISO food safety management system (ISO 22000). SS 590:2013 IN SINGAPORE covers the requirements for sourcing, preparation, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storage, transportation, distribution, handling, and offering for sale or supply of food in any sector of the food chain.
